Plan Your Competition Day
Battle in the Big Country runs from 7:30 AM through the afternoon on November 22, 2025, at Dodge Jones Sports Center in Abilene, Texas. Competitors must arrive by 7:30 AM for mandatory weigh-ins and gi inspection before competition begins at 8:00 AM. Divisions run continuously throughout the day with awards presented immediately following each bracket's finals. Spectators are welcome starting at 8:00 AM with tickets available at the door. Review this schedule carefully to ensure you arrive prepared and on time.

Weigh-Ins & Gi Inspection Begin
Competitors must check in at the registration table and proceed to weigh-in wearing their gi. Gi inspection will verify that your uniform meets IBJJF standards. Bring your photo ID and toy donation. Allow adequate time for this process before competition begins. Late arrivals may forfeit their divisions.
8:00 AM
Doors Open & Competition Starts
Spectators may enter the venue and competition begins on the mats. Divisions will run continuously throughout the day based on bracket size and competitor numbers. Warm-up areas will be available for athletes preparing for their matches. Stay alert for your division announcements.
Continuous Competition
Matches run simultaneously across multiple mats as brackets progress. Athletes should remain in the venue and listen for their division calls. Awards are presented immediately following each division's final match. Plan to stay for your entire bracket progression.
Location & Parking
Free parking is available on-site for all competitors, spectators, and vendors. Arrive early to secure convenient parking and allow time for check-in. The facility offers ample space with accessible parking options. Follow event signage for designated parking areas. No overnight parking permitted.
Competition Day Guide
For Competitors:
Arrive by 7:30 AM for weigh-ins and gi inspection. Bring your photo ID, gi, and toy donation. Warm-up areas will be available throughout the day. Listen for your division announcements and stay ready to compete. Plan to remain at the venue until your bracket completes.
For Spectators:
Doors open at 8:00 AM with tickets available for purchase at the door. Watch world-class grappling action across multiple mats throughout the day. Food and vendor areas will be accessible. Seating is first-come, first-served. All proceeds benefit Toys for Tots.
For Vendors:
Setup times and specific booth locations will be provided upon registration confirmation. Arrive early to set up before spectators enter at 8:00 AM. Bring all necessary equipment as electrical outlets are not available. Breakdown times will be announced as competition concludes.
